fluted minaret

The Fluted minaret, named after the mosque, rises on a pedestal. The pedestal was transformed into a bevel octagonal form from the corners. Between two rows of white stones on the pedestal, there is a horizontal belt with three rows of brick. Each face of the octagonal pads is divided into vertical rectangular frames with brick plait. Brick-braided, pointed-arched dead niche was opened inside these sections. After the octagonal pad, cylindrical drum section begins. This cylindrical mass, which gets narrower and narrower upwards, encircles eight slices of semicircular profile with triangular sections between them. Between the joints of the bricks on the Fluted minaret body, there are turquoise glazed tile mosaics with white tile soil, varying from 2 – 3 cm in thickness to a certain height. Therefore, Fluted minaret are considered to have been built in the Seljuk period during the reign of Alaeddin Keykubad in the 13th century, due to slotted body, materials and application techniques, tile decoration styles, or even the minaret-Mosque relationship. Fluted Minaret is the first Islamic work of the city, reflecting the architecture of the Seljuk period.Geiyeddin Keyhüsrev Madrasah, Seljuk Madrasah, Mevlevihane, Yivli Minaret Mosque, Zincirgan Tomb and Nigar Hatun Mausoleum are located nearby Fluted Minaret, so explains how important it was during the Seljuk period.
